Annika, born in Berlin, started her circus career with vaulting. On the back of a horse she learned to perform tricks and balance at an early age. Little did she know that her dreams would eventually take her up to the trapeze. In 2013, she began her studies at the ETAGE in Berlin and graduated from Codarts Circus Arts University in Rotterdam in 2019, with a Bachelor's degree in "Contemporary Circus Arts," specializing in mouth balance and dance trapeze.
Following her graduation, Annika participated in the BETA Circus program: "Illusionism and New Magic." In this two-year program, she studied alongside leading figures in the "New Magic" scene, such as Valentine Losseau (Cie14:20) and Kalle Nio, learning the art of stage illusions and the dramaturgical writing of magic.
As an artist and independent company, she navigates between theater work, her own solo productions, and collaborations with various partners and collectives. She is the co-founder of the duo collective "Rita&Rita" and the “Kunst und Karpfen Gesellschaft” association.
Her distinctive approach to visual storytelling has given rise to performances such as "RITA" (2021), "Hold on Light" (2022), and her signature piece "LOLA", with which she has been touring worldwide since 2020.
